Keeping your setting’s information safe.
Families trust childminders with deeply personal information. This notice explains what the beta does today, in plain language, and what must be finished before real records can be used.
For now, please use pretend details
LittleLoop is still being tested. Secure sign-in and separate account storage are in place, but the full privacy, safeguarding and security review is not finished. Please do not add a real minded child, real medical information or an identifiable photo yet.
What could sit in a child’s profile?
The signed-in form can hold the details a childminder may need for day-to-day care: names, dates, attendance, interests, support and medical notes, family and emergency contacts, GP information and permissions agreed with the family.
What protects your setting today?
- Every request for a child’s profile checks that the childminder is signed in.
- Each setting’s child records are kept separate.
- The database is not opened directly in the browser.
- Unsigned visitors cannot fetch child profiles.
- Report photo previews stay on the device in this beta.
What still needs doing before real settings use it?
LittleLoop still needs its final business and privacy contact details, lawful-basis assessment, retention timetable, family-rights process, deletion and export tools, account roles, invitation controls, audit history, incident plan, supplier agreements, production sign-in settings and an appropriate Data Protection Impact Assessment.
Only write down what you need
A childminder should record information needed for safe care, legal duties and agreed family communication—not information simply because there is a box for it. The final service will also set out how long different records should be kept.
Questions from childminders and families
The final notice will name the organisation responsible for the data and explain how a family or childminder can ask to see, correct, export, restrict or erase information, raise a concern or contact the ICO. Until then, this beta must not be the only place you keep real childcare records.
